Just as matters are beginning to calm down for the Webster clan in Coronation Street, the return of an old face could stir up some fresh trouble.

So far this year, amid Debbie’s (Sue Devaney) young-onset dementia journey and Kevin’s (Michael Le Vell) battle with testicular cancer, their younger ‘brother’ Carl (Jonathan Howard) was revealed to be a serial cheater and schemer, determined to get his hands on his family’s money.
He even let Debbie take the blame for Billy Mayhew’s (Daniel Brocklebank) demise, dragging her behind the wheel of a car he was driving to frame her.
Ahead of her sentencing, she admitted that she was actually Carl’s mother – a secret buried for four decades – which only made the situation more complex.
Eventually, Debbie grew tired of his manipulative behaviour and ordered him to leave Weatherfield and return to Germany. She handed him an envelope of cash and wished never to see him again, though after a brief stint in hospital, he’s made it clear that he has no intentions of leaving.

Carl now looks set to cause even more mischief, with the return of his former associate Fiona Morley on the horizon.
Actress Sara Poyzer has reprised her role, which she played for four months last year, and will be back on our screens this month during a three episode stint.
Fiona was Ronnie Bailey’s (Vinta Morgan) old flame, who initially approached him with a lucrative business proposition to sell stolen cars. He briefly agreed, he ultimately backed out because he couldn’t go through with the scam for fear of it ruining his relationship with Debbie.

Carl listened in, intrigued, and managed to shift a few of the motors through Websters’ Autocentre.
Poyzer’s publicist confirmed to Radio Times that she’ll also be filming more new scenes later this month, meaning that she’ll be on screen throughout the summer.
Away from the cobbles, the star is appearing as Donna in the West End production of Mamma Mia!, and has a string of soap roles under her belt; from EastEnders, to Crossroads, Doctors and Casualty.
She’s also best known for playing Leonie Snell in The Archers on Radio 4.
