Actor Danish Pandor has been confirmed in a special appearance in filmmaker Imtiaz Ali’s Main Vaapas Aaunga, which is set to release in theatres on June 12, 2026.

Pandor, who has drawn attention for his work in Dhurandhar duology, revealed that he had auditioned for the role shortly before that film’s release and had completed his shoot on Main Vaapas Aaunga prior to Dhurandhar hitting screens.

While Pandor declined to reveal details about his character, he indicated that the role carries narrative significance despite being a special appearance. He said he would rather let audiences discover the nature of the role when they watch the film.

Speaking about working with Imtiaz Ali, Pandor described the experience as memorable, noting Ali’s humility and creative approach on set. He added that Ali’s direction gave him the freedom to explore his performance while also offering a fresh perspective on each scene.

Pandor noted that the role differs from characters he has previously played, and that what drew him to the project was its emotionally driven story and the weight each character carries within the narrative.

Main Vaapas Aaunga is directed and written by Imtiaz Ali. The film is produced by Sameer Nair, Deepak Segal, Mohit Choudhary, and Shibasish Sarkar. The music is composed by A. R. Rahman with lyrics by Irshad Kamil. The film stars Diljit Dosanjh, Naseeruddin Shah, Vedang Raina, and Sharvari Wagh, with Danish Pandor, Banita Sandhu, Rajat Kapoor, Manish Chaudhari, and Sanjay Suri in supporting roles. Main Vaapas Aaunga releases worldwide in theatres on June 12, 2026.
