Esha Deol has shared an emotional video tribute to her late father, veteran actor Dharmendra, celebrating his life both on and off screen. Her post came at a time when both sides of the Deol family held separate prayer meetings to honour his memory.

Esha Deol posts heartfelt video for her father

On Thursday, Esha posted a touching montage on Instagram featuring highlights from Dharmendra’s celebrated film career. The video also included a rare moment of Dilip Kumar praising Dharmendra at an award ceremony, offering fans a nostalgic glimpse into his journey in Indian cinema.

Alongside his professional milestones, Esha included personal family moments in the tribute. The video featured photographs with Dharmendra’s first wife, Prakash Kaur, and their children—Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Vijeta Deol and Ajeeta Deol. It also showed Esha with her father, and moments of Dharmendra with Hema Malini and their daughters. A picture of Dharmendra with his grandson Karan Deol was also part of the montage.

The tribute ended with Dharmendra’s final on-screen appearance in the upcoming film Ikkis, accompanied by his reflective voiceover about the fleeting nature of life. Esha shared the video without a caption and disabled comments.

Hema Malini holds separate prayer meeting in Delhi

Hema Malini, along with daughters Esha and Ahana Deol, organised a prayer meeting in Delhi on December 11 to honour Dharmendra. Earlier, on November 27, Sunny and Bobby Deol held a prayer meet for their father in Mumbai.

Hema and her daughters did not attend the Mumbai ceremony and instead held their own gathering at Hema’s residence on the same day. Dharmendra was married to Prakash Kaur in 1954, and they had four children together. He later married Hema Malini, with whom he had two daughters—Esha and Ahana.

Dharmendra passed away on November 24 at the age of 89, just days before his 90th birthday on December 8.
