Actor Pragati Mishra is set to appear in Ek Din, backed by Aamir Khan Productions. The film features Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi in lead roles and marks one of Pragati’s early projects in Hindi cinema.

Pragati, who was previously seen in Bhool Chuk Maaf, said Ek Din holds particular importance as it was the first film she signed. In the film, she plays Shruti, a character she describes as supportive and emotionally grounded. “Shruti is that one friend we all need in our lives. She’s someone who listens, who stands by you without judgment. Through the film, you see her quietly supporting Mira (Sai Pallavi) as she navigates a deeply emotional journey. This was the first film I signed, and it gave me a foundation, not just as an actor but as a person working in this industry. The values I learned here are something I’ll always hold on to,” she said.

Talking about the casting process, Pragati shared that she was initially approached by casting director Faezeh Jalali. After auditioning for a different role, she was later considered for Shruti and went through multiple rounds of auditions over several months. “At first, I thought it would just be a typical ‘friend’ role. But the level of detail we explored during auditions… made me realize how nuanced the approach to this film really was,” she said.

One of the key moments during her journey was her first interaction with Aamir Khan. Recalling the experience, she said, “He told me he had watched my audition, really liked it, and believed I would do the part well.” She added that this feedback stayed with her throughout the project, especially during moments of self-doubt.

Pragati also spoke about working with director Sunil Pandey, describing the experience as collaborative and detail-oriented. “It was an absolute delight working with Sunil Sir. He is an incredibly patient director, and there’s a deep sense of intention behind every choice he makes. Before each shoot schedule, we would sit down for one-on-one discussions where we explored where Shruti was coming from emotionally,” she said.

Reflecting on her journey so far, Pragati noted that her experiences on Bhool Chuk Maaf and Ek Din have shaped her understanding of the craft and the industry. She highlighted the importance of staying present during auditions and learning from each opportunity, while also acknowledging the disciplined working environment of established production houses.
