For All Mankind has soared past the halfway mark of its penultimate season, where trouble has been brewing on the show’s ironically named Mars colony, Happy Valley.

A shocking revelation caused chaos in this week’s episode and we’ll still be feeling the aftermath in the next chapter, where “a desperate group of Marsies” will try to rectify their “dangerous situation” (as per the rather vague Apple TV synopsis).
As they near the end of their epic saga, creators Ronald D Moore, Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi have shown there are no sacred cows in For All Mankind by killing off an original character earlier this season.
The alternative history sci-fi drama, which kicked off with the Soviet Union winning the space race, has now forged a fascinating vision for the future involving considerable expansion into outer space – but alas, still no utopia.
