“We have business in these woods. It should be settled by tomorrow… Even faster with your help.” Shout has revealed the official trailer for an indie film titled The Isolate Thief, a western thriller from filmmaker John Suits. This is set for release starting in July this summer if anyone wants to watch. From the producers of Old Henry, which is a pretty solid western. One bitter-cold winter during the Civil War, a young woman becomes the lone caretaker of a remote Union Army outpost. When a stash of stolen gold falls into her lap, a gang of vicious outlaws comes looking for it. As they turn her home into a battleground, she must stay one step ahead of them in order to survive. Amidst a deadly winter – survival becomes a game of cunning and betrayal. Starring Mackenzie Foy, Odeya Rush, Jack Kesy, Ty Simpkins, Martin Sensmeier, with Joe Pantoliano and Sean Bean. That’s one helluva a strong cast for a movie that looks like just another bland direct-to-VOD drop. This western seems like it’s made for fans of westerns and not really anyone else.

The film stars Mackenzie Foy as a young woman left alone to serve as caretaker of a remote Union Army outpost during a bitter winter. When stolen gold unexpectedly falls into her possession, her isolation turns dangerous fast. A gang of outlaws arrives looking for the stash, forcing her to defend her home & outthink the men trying to take it from her. The Isolate Thief is directed by producer / filmmaker John Suits, director of the films Breathing Room, 2nd Take, The Scribbler, Pandemic, 3022, Breach, and many other shorts + commercials previously. The screenplay is written by Kevin Lefler. Produced by Shannon Houchins, Vince Jolivette, Travis Mann, Margaret Mille. This hasn’t premiered at any festivals or elsewhere, as far as we know. Shout debuts The Isolate Thief western in select US theaters + on VOD starting July 10th, 2026.
