Nathan Dean, who playsEthanonGeneral Hospital, reflected on his hinted connection to the lateDelilahand her daughter,Phoebe. The possible link is first suggested when he leaves multiple messages for someone but receives no response, leaving him increasingly worried.

When Brook Lynn shares details about Phoebe’s origins, Ethan immediately reacts with visible emotion. He later breaks down in tears and secretly burns a photo of them together, vowing to keep their connection hidden and their secret safe.
Nathan Dean on if Ethan is Phoebe’s father on General Hospital
In a conversation withSoap Opera Digest, Dean was asked whether Ethan is the biological father of Phoebe.
He responded that he “can’t wait to find out” alongside the audience. He added that Ethan’s emotional pull toward Phoebe will only grow stronger, which was already on full display during the May 13 episode when he could hardly keep his eyes off her at the Metro Court Gardens. This could lead him to make frequent excuses to visit her at the Quartermaine mansion.
He described the situation as “complicated,” revealing that Ethan doesn’t want people digging into his past, including what he was protecting Delilah from when he sent her to Port Charles and the nature of their relationship.
“But Ethan definitely wants to make sure that this kid is taken care of. He feels like he’s the reason that Delilah got killed, and he doesn’t want to screw things up more than he already has,” he added.
Dean also revealed that when he signed on to return, he had no idea what storyline awaited him. He knew there would be a reunion with Lulu and some conversation about Luke, but he was unaware of the Delilah/Phoebe storyline until backstage chatter about a baby made it click that he was involved too.
