The Varun Dhawan led comic caper Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, directed by father David Dhawan is seeing decent results in advance booking. As of 8 PM on Wednesday, the entertainer has sold around 8,000 tickets across the Top 3 national chains – PVRInox and Cinepolis.
The comic caper is recording stronger results than Pati Patni Aur Woh Do in the advance booking, as it is headed for a finish around the 30,000 mark, as compared to 14,000 tickets of the Ayushmann Khurrana starrer. The projections are indicating a start in the range of Rs. 7 crore to Rs. 8 crore, as the sales would almost be 2x of Pati Patni Aur Woh Do.
While the start will give the film a standing of sorts, it’s important for the David Dhawan directorial to showcase an upward trend over the weekend. The film must try for first weekend business in the north of Rs. 30 crore to have a shot at emerging a success story.
Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai is expected to show better walk-ins, especially in the mass belts, which keeps it on track to score a respectable day one. Being a David Dhawan comedy, it’s the family audience response on Saturday and Sunday that will decide the fate of the film.
