Now that Death in Paradise has been renewed for a further two seasons, the spotlight has moved onto Beyond Paradise.

Season 4 of the Kris Marshall-led spin-off wrapped up tonight (Friday 1 May), but while certain stories came to a close, there’s plenty of life left in it yet, and the cast are game for more.
“We all hope for it [to continue] because we have just the most wonderful time making it, and anyone from the general public I’ve met that comes up and has a chat absolutely loves it,” Zahra Ahmadi told Radio Times at the start of March, before joking: “I suppose people who don’t [love it] aren’t going to make their way up to me and say, ‘By the way, I absolutely hate that show you’re in.'”
She continued: “But when they come up, it’s not just flippant either. They’re really effusive and I can tell with certain people it means a lot to them. We all have those shows that really speak to our hearts and warm our hearts.
“So I would love for it to go on, but we don’t know yet, we don’t know. But we all hope it will, fingers crossed.”
So, what does the future hold for Beyond Paradise? Read on for everything we know so far.
Has Beyond Paradise been renewed for season 5?
Last month, TV Zone reported that it’s all systems go, but the BBC has yet to announce if Beyond Paradise is returning for more episodes.
For context, season 4 wasn’t confirmed until July, but season 3’s renewal was announced directly after the season 2 finale, so it could be imminent, but we might also be waiting a while.
When could Beyond Paradise season 5 be released?
If it does get the green light, we’d expect another Christmas special this year, followed by further episodes after Death in Paradise season 16 has wrapped up in February or March 2027.
Who could return for a potential Beyond Paradise season 5?

Alongside Kris Marshall as DI Humphrey Goodman and Sally Bretton as Martha Lloyd, we’d expect to see the following faces back on our screens:
- Zahra Ahmadi as DS Esther Williams
- Dylan Llewellyn as PC Kelby Hartford
- Felicity Montagu as office support Margo Martins
- Barbara Flynn as Anne Lloyd
- Jamie Bamber as Archie Hughes
As for Melina Sinadinou’s Zoe Williams, she went off on her travels in season 4, but we have a feeling she’ll also be back given her mum’s insistence that she come straight home.
But the jury’s out on whether Kelby’s girlfriend Agnieszka (Hazel Caulfield) will return, while Mr Smith’s (Vincent Franklin) time has definitely come to an end.
And as is tradition, there will be a whole raft of new guest stars to shake up proceedings.
What could happen in Beyond Paradise season 5?
Humphrey will have resumed his role as DI after the evil Mr Smith was vanquished, but we’ll have to wait to find out what’s set to unfold in his personal life.
Last season, he bought a house with Martha, which has already brought its fair share of challenges – namely a new roof – but could the couple soon be welcoming a new addition to their new home after taking some time out from fostering?
Elsewhere, Kelby and Esther are both loved up, but it remains to be seen what the status of those relationships will be when we’re reunited with them.
Beyond Paradise airs on BBC One and iPlayer.
