Dancing with the Stars Season 35 winner Robert Irwin is remembering his serious injury. In his interview with Jimmy Fallon, he shared how he broke his foot after the dance reality show ended.

Ahead of his appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s show, Robert Irwin opened up about his injury after Dancing with the Stars. The host conducted a fun “3 scoops” segment with Irwin. Among the three questions was a scoop on DWTS. Irwin asked Fallon if he wanted to know about his worst Dancing with the Stars injury, and Fallon curiously agreed. He revealed, “I broke my foot. No one knows this.”
The Australian conservationist shared, “Nobody knows this. But it wasn’t actually on the show. This is after the season of Dancing with the Stars ended,” Irwin further added, “I was alone in my room. I have a little fireplace, it’s made out of stones. And I’m sitting there going, ‘I wonder if I’ve still got it.”
Irwin ended up playing the song “Born to Be Wild” to perform, but things ended up turning upside down. “You know, the one that has all the kicks? I put the song on, and I just start going full HAM, 100% around my house,” he said. Soon, Irwin ended up slamming into his fireplace. The 22-year-old continued, “I’m rolling on the floor, ballooned, like this giant bruise. And yeah, I broke my foot doing the jive in my living room, on my own.” Irwin also mentioned how the incident was “humiliating.”
Recently, Irwin announced that he will be part of Dancing with the Stars’ spin-off titled Dancing With the Stars: The Next Pro. The show will start airing on July 13, 2026, with Irwin turning host. He said in the promo, “For the first time in Dancing with the Stars history, the greatest dancers will compete for the spot as the next pro.”
