Peacock is adding a bit of dark humor to its catalog with a zombie comedy starring Josh Brolin next month. Co-produced by Quentin Tarantino, the film follows a go-go dancer with a gun leg and other survivors as they fight their way through hordes of zombies in Texas.

Planet Terror arrives on Peacock in May
Planet Terror will be added to Peacock’s streaming library on Friday, May 22, 2026, per the streamer’s schedule.
Sin City and Alita: Battle Angel’s director, Robert Rodriguez, helmed Planet Terror. He also served as a writer, co-producer, composer, co-editor, and cinematographer. He produced it under his production studio, Rodriguez International Pictures.
The film is a part of Grindhouse, a double feature made by Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino. It combines Rodriguez’s Planet Terror and Tarantino’s Death Proof into one unique cinematic experience.
Set in a small Texas town, Planet Terror follows a deadly outbreak caused by a leaked biochemical agent that transforms people into zombies. Go-go dancer Cherry teams up with her ex, El Wary, to survive the hordes, but loses her leg during an encounter. As more chaos ensues, they join other survivors, and Cherry replaces her missing leg with a mini-gun.
The film’s cast features Josh Brolin, Rose McGowan, Freddy Rodriguez, Marley Shelton, Jeff Fahey, Naveen Andrews, Fergie, and Bruce Willis, among others. It also has cameo appearances from both filmmakers.
During an undated interview, Shelton revealed that the Pulp Fiction director was on set a lot and even had notes for the cast, though Rodriguez had the final say. Nonetheless, she called the film a “brain child” of both directors.
Dimension Films, an independent film production studio, handled Planet Terror’s distribution. The film debuted in theaters on April 6, 2007, opening to favorable reviews. On Rotten Tomatoes, both critics’ and audience ratings average at 77%. At the box office, the film made $11.4 million worldwide.
