Lizzy Caplan is set to star in FX’s upcoming Far Cry TV series.

The show, which is based on the video game franchise and will become available on FX and Hulu, has also cast Rob Mac (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Mythic Quest), who is also an executive producer alongside Noah Hawley (Alien: Earth, Fargo).
Details about the story, as well as Caplan and Mac’s characters are being kept under wraps, but we do know that the show, like the games, will run as an anthology and feature a different cast and plot each season.
The video game, which launched in 2004, is a first-person shooter game that puts the player in an extreme situation where they have to fight for survival.
The game has proven to be one of Ubisoft’s most popular franchises, having amassed more than 100 million unique players since its launch.
Mac is executive producing through his More Better Productions company, alongside Hawley through his 26 Keys company.

Caplan is perhaps best known for her roles as Janis Ian in the 2004 classic Mean Girls and Virginia E Johnson in Masters of Sex, but has also appeared in True Blood, Cloverfield, Fatal Attraction and Zero Day.
The actress also starred in 2023’s Fleishman Is in Trouble, for which she received an Emmy nomination.
Most recently, she appeared in the indie thriller comedy Drag, while upcoming projects include the Netflix series adaptation of The Boys from Brazil.
No other castings have been confirmed for Far Cry as yet.
