MTV’s long-running reality show Splitsvilla returned with Season 16, titled Splitsvilla 16: Pyaar Ya Paisa, on January 9, 2026. While the season brings back familiar elements of romance, rivalry, and strategy, it also introduces a few notable changes—one of them being the inclusion of actor Simran Behl as an Insider, marking a shift from the show’s usual casting pattern.

This season sees Sunny Leone return as the Queen of Hearts, with Karan Kundrra stepping in as the King of Hearts. Adding to the mix are Nia Sharma and Uorfi Javed, who appear as Mischief Makers, tasked with stirring things up inside the villa. Amid these changes, the decision to bring in Simran Behl as an Insider stands out, as the role has traditionally been reserved for former Splitsvilla contestants.

According to the makers, the move was deliberate. Instead of following the established format, the team chose Simran for the kind of screen presence and engagement she brings, making her a fit for the role despite not being an ex-contestant.

Sharing her reaction to the opportunity, Simran admitted that it came as a surprise. “I’m really excited and grateful to be part of Splitsvilla 16 as an Insider. I honestly wasn’t expecting it. I was earlier approached to be a contestant but had to decline due to personal reasons. When I was later approached for the Insider role, it felt like a great opportunity. Being associated with the show in this way feels special, and I’m thankful for the trust the team has shown in me.”

With Splitsvilla 16 experimenting subtly with its format, Simran’s inclusion reflects the makers’ willingness to adapt while staying rooted in what has kept the show relevant for years.
