The makers of the upcoming mythological action-adventure film Nagabandham have shed light on the scale of the project, revealing that the film’s budget expanded significantly during production as the team worked to create a visually immersive cinematic experience.

Nagabandham budget increased 4-5 times during production, reveals producer Nishitha Nagireddy; says “We believed in the content”

Producer Nishitha Nagireddy recently spoke about the creative decisions that led to the film‘s increasing scale, explaining that the makers were determined to avoid repetitive visual settings and instead introduce audiences to distinct worlds throughout the narrative. “Throughout the film there is no monotony. Every ten minutes, audiences will see a different visual experience. In many films, the same setups and sets are reused repeatedly. We wanted every world in Nagabandham to feel fresh and distinct,” said Nishitha Nagireddy.

According to the producer, this commitment to creating varied visual environments had a direct impact on the production budget. As the project evolved, the team continued to expand its scope to match the film’s ambitious storytelling and mythology-driven narrative. “The budget actually became four to five times more than what we had originally projected. But we are happy with the output because we believed in the content and in the uniqueness of what we were creating,” she added.

The film reportedly relies on a combination of elaborate set construction, production design and visual effects to bring its world to life. Instead of revisiting the same locations repeatedly, the makers chose to build multiple large-scale environments to support the story’s blend of mythology, fantasy, history and adventure.

Nagireddy also emphasized that while visual spectacle remains an important part of the film, the team has focused equally on ensuring emotional engagement within the narrative. “Some films spend heavily on VFX and production design but miss the emotional connection. For us, it was important to have both, the visual grandeur and the drama,” she said.

Nagabandham is being positioned as a large-scale cinematic venture that combines mythology-inspired storytelling with adventure and fantasy elements. The makers aim to offer audiences a constantly evolving visual experience while maintaining a strong emotional core.

Produced by Kishore Annapureddy and Nishitha Nagireddy, the film stars Virat Karrna, Nabha Natesh and Jagapathi Babu in key roles, along with an ensemble cast. Further details about the film’s release are expected to be announced in the coming months.
