Swapped (2025)

Genre: Animation, Adventure, Comedy | Director: Nathan Greno

Skydance Animation’s latest family-friendly feature has officially touched down on Netflix. The story takes us deep into “The Valley,” following Ollie, a tiny woodland pookoo, and Ivy, a strong-headed Javan bird. After a magical mishap, the two natural enemies must overcome their differences and lead with kindness to save their home from an ultimate evil.

In our review of the animated feature, Andrew Morgan gave it 3 out of 5 stars, noting:

“Overall, Swapped impresses just enough with its world-building and compassion to satisfy its four-quadrant family audience, surpassing previous Skydance animation films of recent note like Spellbound or Lucky. Vibrant colors, original creature designs, & bold, lifelike computer animation style will capture the minds, while its march towards empathy & understanding will reach their hearts.”

Man on Fire (Season 1)

Genre: Action, Drama, Thriller

If you’re looking for an action-packed binge this weekend, look no further than Man on Fire. This brand-new, gritty series adaptation of A.J. Quinnell’s classic thriller stars the Emmy-winning Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who completely elevates the source material. Delivering intense action sequences and a phenomenal lead performance, it’s easily one of the most exciting original series to hit Netflix this month.

Reviews have been mostly good,including a positive one from us, with most praising the direction, action, and acting prowess, although finding the plot lacking compared to its movie counterpart from yesteryear.

Bugonia (2025)

Cast: Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons

Following its highly anticipated theatrical run, Yorgos Lanthimos’s latest eccentric masterpiece makes its SVOD debut on Netflix. Reuniting with his Poor Things and Kinds of Kindness muse Emma Stone alongside Jesse Plemons, Lanthimos delivers a bizarre, captivating, and darkly hilarious sci-fi comedy that you absolutely cannot miss. It’s a massive get for the Netflix movie library this week and will no doubt divide. I personally absolutely adored 90% of the movie and couldn’t stand the ending. I know that it’s based on a previously released work and that it ends exactly how it’s supposed to be, but still… Let me know what you think in the comments.

Don’t Breathe (2016)

If you’re searching for a masterclass in tension, Fede Álvarez’s critically acclaimed 2016 thriller Don’t Breathe has made its way to Netflix. The premise is brilliantly simple: a trio of young Detroit thieves breaks into the home of a wealthy blind veteran, expecting an easy score. They quickly discover that their target is a highly lethal adversary, turning their heist into a terrifying fight for survival. Tightly paced and completely relentless, this is a brilliantly crafted horror that will literally have you holding your breath.
