“Witness the determination of one club.” 🇬🇱 Siloam Road & Good Shoes, Inc have revealed the first official trailer for No Place For Football, a documentary film about soccer in Greenland out to watch this year. It’s premiering this week at 2026 DocLands and then will be out later this year – likely right after the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the summer. No Place for Football explores perseverance, identity, and unifying power of sport in one of the most remote regions on Earth. Set along the Arctic Circle, the film follows Nuuk-based football club, “B-67 Nuuk“, as they navigate a series of obstacles traveling north to compete in Greenland’s uniquely brief football season. With unprecedented access, capturing the team’s journey to Ilulissat, as they pursue the title of national champions, while contending with fierce rivals, overcoming physical hardship, and the weight of representing their community. Through intimate storytelling and Greenland’s backdrop of striking visuals, No Place for Football offers a rare glimpse into life in Greenland – where the world’s most popular sport isn’t just a game, it’s the cultural heartbeat of the world’s largest island. Sounds great to me! They grabbed my attention! Especially with this striking photo on the poster. I’m ready to see this doc now.
Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Brandon & Derek’s doc No Place For Football, from YouTube:

The documentary No Place for Football is an intimate look at one team’s experience during the world’s shortest season (one week) as they battle the elements en route to the host city, the struggle to maintain healthy players in harsh environments and the pressures of returning home victorious. Led by captain Patrick Frederiksen and head coach Nicolai Nielsen, club B67 from Nuuk travels north to the host town of Ilulissat, with the dream of becoming National Champions. But if the boys from Nuuk are to be successful, they’ll have to overcome a series of obstacles along the way, including a showdown with their bitter rival and hometown club, N48. No Place For Football is co-directed by producers / filmmakers Brandon Scott Smith & Derek Smith (In the Dark of the Valley), both directing their first feature film together after shorts and other doc projects. It’s produced by Scott Sorensen, Brandon Scott Smith & Derek Smith. This is premiering at the 2026 DocLands Documentary Film Festival this spring. It will debut for streaming later in 2026 after the upcoming World Cup this year. For more info, visit the film’s official site. Want to watch? ⚽
