Ram Charan starrer Peddi has been steadily building excitement ever since the makers began unveiling glimpses from the film. From the actor’s rugged village cricket look to his powerful pehelwan avatar, the project has quickly positioned itself among the most anticipated releases of 2026. Now, a fresh revelation from celebrity fitness trainer Rakkesh R. Uddiyar has added another layer of intrigue.

Ram Charan to have three transformations in Peddi and third look is kept secret, reveals trainer Rakkesh R. Uddiyar
Speaking about Ram Charan’s physical preparation for the film, Uddiyar revealed that the actor will be seen in three separate transformations, with one of them still being kept under wraps. He said, “There will be three transformations of Ram Charan in the film. The third will be a surprise for fans.”
According to the trainer, director Buchi Babu Sana and Ram Charan were clear about how the lead character should appear on screen. He explained, “Buchi Babu and Charan were very clear to me about the lead character in Peddi. He should look like a desi pehalwan. He should not look like a Greek god”.
To achieve that physique, Ram Charan reportedly followed a demanding fitness routine that combined weight training, cardio, mobility work, and traditional kushti-inspired exercises. Uddiyar shared, “Monday, Wednesday, Friday, we did weight training with fasting cardio. Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, we did functional movement with kushti exercises and mobility exercises.” The actor’s preparation also included gada workouts, rope pulling, Surya Namaskar, physiotherapy, and regular massages to aid recovery. On the nutrition front, he was placed on a structured carb-cycling plan. He said, “We followed a structured 1,800-2,500 calorie plan, known as carb cycling. Some days low, some days high.”
The initial schedule of the film required Ram Charan to maintain a leaner frame as the character begins life as a village boy. The trainer revealed that this phase involved a calorie deficit for nearly four to five months. One of the most difficult stages of the transformation came during Ram Charan’s annual Ayyappa Mala fast. The trainer admitted, “That time was very difficult for us. He was already following a 50 to 60 percent vegetarian diet. But putting him on a full vegetarian diet during training, it was difficult,” revealed Uddiyar.
Despite the challenges, the trainer praised the actor’s discipline and consistency. He stated, “There were ups and downs. Some days, I could see he was feeling low, and on those days I’d give him extra calories. I could compromise there. But when it came to training, Ram Charan was exceptional.” He further added, “He (Ram Charan) would call saying, ‘I’m on the treadmill. Just come. I will get ready.’”
Discussing Charan’s kushti training, Uddiyar noted, “He is not an athlete. He’s an actor. An athlete puts his entire body in motion. To catch that character and perform, it’s very tough. But every move he did, we were shocked at how he was doing it.” He also said, “How Salman Khan is for me in Bollywood, Ram Charan is for me here in South cinema.” Summing up the scale of preparation, he mentioned, “It’s not a one-day programme. I have almost given one year and four months for his body.”
Written and directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi stars Ram Charan in the lead role alongside Shiva Rajkumar, Janhvi Kapoor, Divyendu Sharma, and Jagapathi Babu. Produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas in association with Mythri Movie Makers, the film has already generated buzz through its songs ‘Chikiri Chikiri’ and ‘Rai Rai Raa Raa’, both of which have performed strongly online.
