Actor Sanjay Dutt turned emotional as he remembered his late father Sunil Dutt on his death anniversary. Taking to social media on May 26, the actor shared a series of nostalgic family photographs featuring his father, sisters Priya Dutt and Namrata Dutt, along with an emotional note expressing how deeply he continues to miss him.

The shared photos included glimpses from Sanjay Dutt’s childhood and teenage years, capturing several candid moments with Sunil Dutt and the family. Alongside the pictures, Sanjay penned a heartfelt tribute that resonated strongly with fans and followers online. “I miss you always dad and I love you, you are and have always been a rock in my life, I am honoured and grateful to have a dad like you,” the actor wrote.

Over the years, Sanjay Dutt has often spoken openly about the unwavering support Sunil Dutt gave him during some of the most difficult phases of his life. From helping him battle drug addiction to standing firmly by his side during his legal troubles and jail sentence, Sunil Dutt remained one of the strongest pillars in the actor’s personal journey.

Apart from their close personal bond, the father-son duo also shared a memorable professional relationship in cinema. They worked together in several films, including Rocky (1981), which marked Sanjay Dutt’s Bollywood debut. Their relationship and emotional journey were also prominently portrayed in Sanju (2018), directed by Rajkumar Hirani. The biographical drama featured Ranbir Kapoor as Sanjay Dutt, while Paresh Rawal portrayed Sunil Dutt.

Meanwhile, Priya Dutt also paid tribute to her father on May 25 with a heartfelt social media note remembering his compassion, humanity and legacy. Sharing an emotional message, she wrote, “Some people leave behind memories. Some leave behind a legacy. And then there are a rare few, like my father, Sunil Dutt, who leave behind humanity itself as their greatest gift to the world”. She further added, “On your death anniversary, I don’t just remember the actor or the leader people respected and admired. I remember the father whose strength was always wrapped in kindness, whose presence made us feel safe, and whose compassion touched everyone who crossed his path.”
