The teaser which was unveiled earlier this month revealed how Aakhri Sawal will explore subjects rarely addressed on the big screen, with a strong focus on questions surrounding the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), described as one of the world’s largest voluntary organisations. The film positions itself as a hard-hitting drama that seeks to examine historical controversies and invite discussion.

Among the themes highlighted by the makers are several long-debated issues that continue to spark public discourse. These include questions around whether the RSS had any role in the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi, whether it was connected to the demolition of the Babri Masjid, and what role the organisation played during the Emergency period. Taking to Instagram, the makers shared powerful posters asking equally powerful questions.

With such weighty subject matter, the film appears to be aiming for a bold and conversation-starting cinematic experience. The promotional material indicates that the story will combine political drama, historical references and investigative storytelling, making it one of the more unconventional mainstream releases on the calendar.

Sanjay Dutt’s presence has further amplified attention around the project. The project is directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Abhijeet Mohan Warang. It is presented by Nikhil Nanda and produced by Nikhil Nanda along with Sanjay Dutt. The film is co-produced by Puneet Nanda, Dr. Deepak Singh, Gaurav Dubey and Ujjwal Anand.
