Netflix’s hit horror franchise Stranger Things returns in an unexpected fashion this year. The franchise ended with its fifth season late last year and has a spin-off in the works as well.

How is Stranger Things returning later this year?
Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights has announced it’ll have new Stranger Things haunted houses at the event this year. The collaboration will be based on the final season of the Netflix show. The Stranger Things haunted house experience will commence on August 28, 2026, at Universal Orlando Resort and on September 3, 2026, at Universal Studios Hollywood.

The haunted houses are described to showcase “the most gripping moments from the final season in an authentic, visceral experience that places guests at the center of the ultimate battle to save Hawkins.” Visitors will be able to trek through iconic locations from the show and encounter favorite characters. Of course, a haunted house experience is nothing without evading a supernatural evil, and visitors will be doing just that as they face Vecna.
Much like the show itself, the experience will begin in a recreation of Hawkins before moving on to the supernatural Upside Down and the Abyss. Besides Vecna, visitors will also find themselves hiding from Demogorgons.
Stranger Things fans can also pick up new merchandise from the collaboration at the Universal shop. Items include a T-shirt, a mug “infused with ‘80s nostalgia”, and a Stranger Things-inspired acrylic figure that fits into the Infernal Carnival collectible display. Additional items tied to the other Halloween Horror Nights collaborations will also be available. This year’s Halloween Horror Nights will also feature haunted houses inspired by Sinners.

Halloween Horror Nights is an annual tradition at Universal Studios, with each year focusing on various horror franchises. This year’s Halloween Horror Nights event will run for 42 nights with eight haunted houses and other experiences.Last year’s Horror Nights lineup included haunted houses based on Five Nights at Freddy’s, Terrifier, and more.
Stranger Things is streaming now on Netflix.
