The salaries for The Devil Wears Prada 2‘s leading trio, Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt, have possibly been revealed. A recent report suggests the three negotiated a special deal to return as Miranda Priestly, Andy Sachs, and Emily Charlton, respectively, which saw each of them earn an impressive sum of money. This comes as the film continues to grow at the box office following a strong debut.

Meryl Streep reportedly earned a $12.5 million salary for her reprisal of Miranda Priestly in The Devil Wears Prada 2, as per Variety, which cited sources.

According to the outlet, the 76-year-old icon negotiated a “favored nations” deal alongside Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt that saw the latter two also earn the same figure. However, they suggested that the former could have pushed for a higher salary if she wanted to.

Moreover, the agreement reportedly entitles them to lucrative box office bonuses. To elucidate, Streep, Hathaway, and Blunt could make over $20 million, as per two sources, if the film continues to fill seats in theaters.

Previously, Streep reportedly earned approximately $4-5 million for her role in the first film. She was originally going to receive a lesser salary before successfully negotiating to earn twice as much after foreseeing its eventual success. The three-time Oscar winner confirmed this in an interview with Today while promoting the sequel.

Recalling when she was first in talks to star, the Mamma Mia! actress said that after reading the script, she rejected it, even though she was impressed by the story, as she knew it would become a hit. She added, “I wanted to see if I doubled my ask, and they went right away and said, ‘Sure.’”

“I’m 56 — it took me this long to understand that I could do that! I was sure of it. I was sure it would be a hit,” she continued. “And they needed me, I felt. And I wanted it, but if they didn’t want to do that, I was okay. Because I’m old — I’m 56, I was ready to retire.”

The Devil Wears Prada 2, which premiered on May 1, 2026, is currently playing in theaters.
