Having been renewed for its second season ahead of the release of its first, the future of The Paper was never in doubt – and now, we have a confirmed release date.

It’s been announced that all episodes of The Paper season 2 will land on Sky and NOW on Thursday 10 September. That means that fans really haven’t had too long to wait for new episodes, seeing as the first season premiered in September of last year.
In the US, The Paper season 2 arrives on Peacock on Wednesday 9 September.
Created, written and executive produced by Greg Daniels (The Office US), The Office spin-off series will see the return of cast members Domhnall Gleeson, Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo. Tim Key, Ramona Young, Eric Rahill, Duane Shepard Sr, Alex Edelman and Oscar Nuñez.
We can get a glimpse of them in newly released first-look images of the second season, which see the team hanging around expectantly in the office, and also Ned (Gleeson) and Nicole (Young) sharing an excited high five as they sit down for a meeting (above).

As for guest stars joining the fold for season 2, those include Jon Lovitz (The Simpsons), Andy Richter (Conan), Lisa Gilroy (Jury Duty), Matt Braunger (Agent Carter), Toks Olagundoye (Family Guy, Beave and Butt-Head) and Phil Hendrie (The Phil Hendrie Show).
It tracks that the new season is coming so soon after the first, especially since Daniels previously admitted that there were ideas early on for a second season.
He’d previously told Variety that he and the team “definitely have ideas” for a follow-up season, saying: “We’ve been talking about stories for a possible season 2, and it’ll be interesting to see what the audience thinks.
“We’ve gotten really good feedback from people inside the company and journalists and friends, but you never know what the broader world of Office fans are going to think of it.”
In the first season, we saw how the very same documentary crew that followed Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch in The Office found a new subject when they discovered a historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher trying to revive it.
According to the next season’s description: “In season 2, after sweeping the Ohio Journalism Awards, Ned searches for a journalistic crusade, coming for a local private club and jeopardising the paper, while he and Mare try to figure out their attraction, Esmeralda struggles to find her place, and the staff gradually mature as reporters.”
