The anticipated conclusion to Square Enix’sFinal Fantasy VIIremake series will hit consoles next year withFinal Fantasy VII: Revelation. The studio has released an announcement trailer and gameplay featurette showcasing all the new gameplay mechanics including traveling the world on the ship Highwind. Watch the trailers below…
Final Fantasy VII: Revelationwill see Cloud and his allies continue their journey to stop Sephiroth from destroying the planet and altering reality. Joining the team in the concluding chapter are fan-favourite characters Vincent Valentine and Cid Highwind. New additions to the English voice cast feature Matt Mercer as Vincent and Travis Willingham taking over the voice of Sephiroth after Tyler Hoechlin, who voiced the villain inRemakeandRebirth, was unable to return due to scheduling conflicts.
Final Fantasy VIIis often considered the best game in theFinal Fantasyfranchise. Released in 1997, it was massively popular and is one of the few installments in the series to have multiple spin-off games detailing the backstories of several characters as well as the animated feature film sequelFinal Fantasy VII: Advent Children. The new game’s Spring 2027 release is timely as it will mark the game’s 30th anniversary and is described as the concluding chapter to allFinal Fantasy VIImedia.
