The White Lotus season 2 star Haley Lu Richardson has said she’d be open to returning in a future series.

The actor played Tanya’s (Jennifer Coolidge) put-upon and quirky young assistant Portia in season 2 of the HBO anthology series, which follows a (mostly new) bunch of guests at a different luxury hotel each season as they slowly unravel, culminating in the demise of at least one of them.
Speaking recently to Deadline at Sundance, where she was attending the premiere of new sci-fi movie Zi, which she produces and stars in, Richardson was asked whether she’d be open to reprising her role in future seasons given that she made it out of season 2 alive.
“People are like, ‘Would you do it if they asked you back?’ Obviously, I don’t think there’s a single one of us that probably wouldn’t,” Richardson said of her fellow White Lotus stars.
She continued: “Mike [White] is a genius. I really trust him. Portia has her moments, but I have empathy for her, and I’d play her again.”

The upcoming fourth season of the show, which began filming back in April, is set during the Cannes Film Festival and will “follow a new group of White Lotus hotel guests and employees over the span of a week”, according to HBO.
The new season will, for the first time, revolve around two luxury hotels: the Airelles Château de la Messardière, which will be used as the White Lotus du Cap, and the Hôtel Martinez, which will be turned into the White Lotus Cannes.

White previously said that the season will focus on the concept of celebrity, telling W Magazine: “It’s a bit about fame, about who has the world’s attention, who is the plus-one, and how that can organise a relationship.
“Some people are satisfied with the love of just an intimate partner, and some people need the love of strangers and a bigger kind of attention.”
