Belgium kick off their World Cup campaign on Monday night as Rudi Garcia’s side face Egypt in Seattle.

The Red Devils are the favourites to top Group G ahead of Egypt, Iran, and New Zealand, in that order.
Belgium went unbeaten in qualifying (won five, drawn three) to secure their World Cup spot. They also scored an impressive 29 times and conceded just seven goals.

Belgium finished third at the 2018 tournament in Russia but they didn’t make it out of the group in 2022 in Qatar. Garcia’s men are expected to reach the round of 16 at a bare minimum this summer.
Egypt are only making their fourth World Cup appearance and while they’ll want to win the group, finishing second behind Belgium to reach the knockout stages would be an achievement. It remains to be seen whether Mohamed Salah and co. can then get to the round of 16 or further.
