Who killed Theo Silverton (James Cartwright)? Speculation has been rife among Coronation Street fans since it was confirmed that Todd Grimshaw’s (Gareth Pierce) abusive ex-partner was the murder victim teased months ago.
And in tonight’s episode, Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) confirms the hunt for the perpetrator gets underway this week, with he and Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers) set to hold a series of “intense interrogations” to uncover what really happened in Theo’s final moments.
“Everyone on the street is struggling to comprehend that one of their own is a murderer, but for the suspects, the fight is to keep their secrets hidden,” reads the official synopsis.
“This month, the pressure mounts to a breaking point as the hunt for Theo’s killer commences.”
So, who’s in the firing line?
We have already shared our predictions (very good ones, we must say), but the soap has since confirmed which characters are going to be subject to Kit and Lisa’s questioning, with one set to be confirmed as the killer.

Todd Grimshaw

Could he have been pushed to the point that he thought the only way to escape would be to kill his abuser?
George Shuttleworth
“Despite fiercely maintaining his innocence, is George’s desperation to protect someone else a cover for his own deadly crime?”
It’s no secret that George (Tony Maudsley) considers Todd his surrogate son, and was seen browsing a Weatherfield Gazette article about the murder in tonight’s episode.
Gary Windass
“Did Gary’s protective intervention for Todd cross a line, turning into an act of deadly revenge against the man tormenting his friend?”
Gary (Mikey North) smashed up Theo’s van, and then sent him a threatening text message. And let’s face it, this wouldn’t be the first time he’s taken someone’s life…
Summer Spellman
“After living with the knowledge that Theo killed Billy, did the weight of this trauma finally push Summer to commit murder?”
Summer (Harriet Bibby) was seemingly the last person to see Theo alive, and in tonight’s episode, we saw that she’d been detailing her hatred for him in her journal.
