Alice and Steve has finally landed on Disney+, giving viewers a peek inside a calamitous romance that risks tearing a family apart.
Nicola Walker and Jemaine Clement star as the title characters, who have been friends for decades when a shocking revelation pits them dramatically against each other.
That is, when Steve reveals that he’s struck up a relationship with Alice’s daughter, Izzy (Yali Topol Margalith), who is three decades his junior and someone he’s known since she was very young.
The series raises an interesting debate regarding whether 26-year-old Izzy should be free to make her own choice in life partner, whatever the cost, or if she and Steve should suppress their feelings to end her mother’s immense discomfort.

Will there be an Alice and Steve season 2?
Disney+ is yet to announce whether Alice and Steve has been renewed for season 2 or cancelled, but creator Sophie Goodhart has made it known that she’d like to make another chapter.
Speaking to Radio Times in the wake of that surprise cliffhanger, she explained: “It will slightly depend on how popular the show is… if I get a season 2, [the finale] leads to something that is very chosen, that has already been decided upon.”
Meanwhile, in a conversation for the Radio Times Writers’ Room, she revealed that two seasons is likely to be the extent of Alice and Steve’s runtime. “I’m not sure that there’d be more than that,” added Goodhart.

If a second season of Alice and Steve were to be ordered, there’s reason to be hopeful that the new episodes could be turned around in 12-18 months, which would point to a 2027 launch date.
That’s just speculation for now, though – we’ll update this page once any concrete details emerge.
Who could star in a potential Alice and Steve season 2?
If Alice and Steve were to be renewed for a second season, we’d expect Nicola Walker and Jemaine Clement to reprise the title roles – so long as their characters do survive the outcome of that cliffhanger finale.
It seems plausible that they would, but by no means guaranteed, so there is the possibility for a major departure if creator Goodhart swerves in an unexpected direction.
Other likely returnees would be Yali Topol Margalith (as Izzy), Joel Fry (as Daniel), Tyrese Eaton-Dyce (as Dom), Marcia Warren (as Val) and Eilidh Fisher (as Rome).

What could a potential Alice and Steve season 2 be about?
Alice and Steve season 2 will have to resolve that shocking cliffhanger ending, which saw the fate of the title characters hang in the balance as a cursed wedding descended into chaos.
Alice’s son, Dom, and his girlfriend, Rome, accidentally start a fire in their room, which quickly spreads across the entirety of the boutique venue where Steve and Izzy were supposed to be tying the knot.
Having missed the evacuation calls over the music blasting through his earphones, Steve is the last one left in the building as it is consumed in the blaze.
Alice makes a daring rescue attempt, which ends with the feuding former friends stuck on the roof of the building, where there only hope is making a death-defying jump to a neighbouring structure.
The season ends with a freeze-frame of Alice and Steve in mid-air, leaving their ultimate fate a mystery.
As mentioned above, creator Sophie Goodhart has “decided upon” what happens next, but it’s not yet confirmed whether her vision will make it to the screen.
Besides the high-stakes leap of faith, Alice and Steve season 2 will have to explore whether its title characters can ever fully reconcile, and if Izzy will end up with her older beau or go back to her younger ex Yannis.
