BBC has made a major announcement about the future of teen thriller A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder, but much like Pip Fitz-Amobi’s investigations, it comes with a bitter sting.

The BBC and Netflix series stars Wednesday’s Emma Myers as the young detective who gets tangled in a web of horrendous crimes as she seeks justice for her friends.
Adapted by the best-selling book trilogy by Holly Jackson, series two focused on the second novel’s story – Good Girl, Bad Blood – but ends with Pip heading down an even darker road.
Now, it’s been confirmed by the BBC and Netflix that the series will return for a third season.
Not only that, but the series has already been filmed.

However, this comes with the sad confirmation that the upcoming series, based on the 2021 novel As Good as Dead, will bring the show to its dramatic end.
On the announcement, Myers – who is also an executive producer on the series – said: “I’m very happy that we get to bring everyone series three of A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder. Thank you so much to everyone who has given this show love and support throughout!
“This has truly been an incredible experience and Pip will be a character I will never forget.
“Book three is my favourite of all the books, so I’m very excited to show everyone what we’ve done. Get ready for a crazy time!”

In the book As Good As Dead, Pip and the gang are preparing to leave their hometown of Little Kilton and head off to college – but the results of her last investigation are proving to have unexpected consequences.

Now a true crime podcaster, Pip is faced with a string of online death threats, and a chilling stalker who seems to be obsessed with making her disappear.
With the police not willing to step in, it’s up to her to find the culprit before it’s too late.
Will she be able to stop this obsessed person before they’re able to act? And how is this connected to a serial killer who was caught six years ago?
Author Holly Jackson added of the series three announcement: “I am ecstatic that we are able to bring A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder to its (bloody) conclusion.
“As Good As Dead is my favourite of the book series and it’s by far my favourite season of the show too.
“You’ll see Pip as you’ve never seen her before. It’s dark, breathless, horrible and… somehow still manages to be funny.”
Finally, she teased: “Come on back to Little Kilton for the final time…if you dare.”
