The game is officially back afoot! Netflix has just lifted the curtain on Enola Holmes 3, treating us to a brand-new batch of photo stills, dropping the official synopsis, and best of all, confirming a Summer 2026 release date.
As we’ve been tracking in our comprehensive Enola Holmes 3 preview, the highly anticipated threequel has been brewing for a while now. Following the massive success of the first two films in 2020 and 2022, fans have been eagerly awaiting Millie Bobby Brown’s return as the rebellious teenage sleuth.
Now, the wait is almost over. Netflix has confirmed Enola Holmes 3 will premiere globally on July 1st, 2026.

Before we dive into the gorgeous new stills, let’s take a look at the brand-new logline, which confirms a major change of scenery for the youngest Holmes sibling:
“Adventure chases detective Enola Holmes to Malta, where personal and professional dreams collide on a case more tangled and treacherous than any she has faced before.”
Breaking Down the First Look Images
Netflix dropped eight new stills for the upcoming movie, and they give us plenty to dissect. It looks like Enola will be trading the gloomy streets of London for the sun-drenched shores of Malta—though she’ll certainly be bringing the danger with her.
Let’s take a look at what the new pictures reveal:
- A Maturing Enola: We see Enola navigating a fiery collapsing building, doing some classic sleuthing around sunny Maltese architecture, and—most shockingly—wearing what appears to be a wedding veil. With the logline teasing “personal and professional dreams colliding,” could Enola and Tewkesbury be tying the knot?

- Tewkesbury Returns: Speaking of Viscount Tewkesbury, Louis Partridge is back! The stills show him looking happier than ever with Enola on a rocky Mediterranean coastline, and in another shot, kneeling on the floor to offer her a flower.
- The Sibling Dynamic: Henry Cavill is back in the deerstalker (well, metaphorical deerstalker) as Sherlock Holmes. We get a great shot of the two siblings looking up at something in the London streets.
- New and Returning Faces: Helena Bonham Carter returns as the elusive Holmes matriarch, Eudoria, looking as mysterious as ever in a dark, underground setting. We also get our first look at new cast member Himesh Patel, who is seen sharing a tense, window-side chat with Tewkesbury.

In a statement to Netflix, Millie Bobby Brown opened up about where we find Enola in this third outing:
“What I love about this chapter is that Enola is stepping into a version of herself that feels much more defined but still evolving. She’s built something for herself, which is amazing, but she’s also questioning what she wants next, and I think that’s something so many people can relate to.”
Brown also touched on the evolution of her on-screen relationship with Louis Partridge, hinting that fans of the pairing have a lot to look forward to:
“Working with Louis has been such a huge part of what makes these films feel special. There’s a comfort and an ease between us now that you can’t really fake and it just comes from years of working together and supporting each other. What’s been really nice is getting to explore a more mature version of Enola and Tewkesbury’s relationship. It’s not just playful anymore, it has real weight to it. We trust each other a lot, which means we can take more risks and really lean into the emotional side of their story.”
In exclusive quotes given to PEOPLE, the cast and director of Enola Holmes 3 emphasized that this latest installment brings higher stakes and significant emotional growth for the franchise’s beloved characters. Brown noted that Enola is now “more confident in who she is,” paving the way for a deeper, more mature dynamic with Tewkesbury—though Louis Partridge teased that their impending wedding guarantees “drama around every corner” as the couple navigates a “rough patch.”
Behind the scenes, both stars praised their effortless, natural chemistry built on years of mutual trust, a sentiment echoed by new director Philip Barantini, who called the collaborative cast “wonderful” and described stepping into the adventure franchise as “an absolute blast.”
Behind the Camera for Enola Holmes 3
As previously confirmed, a slight shakeup behind the scenes for this third entry. While Harry Bradbeer directed the first two movies, Philip Barantini (Boiling Point, The Responder) is stepping into the director’s chair for Enola Holmes 3. Jack Thorne (His Dark Materials, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) returns to pen the script, adapting once again from Nancy Springer’s beloved book series.
The producing team is stacked, with Mary Parent, Alex Garcia, Ali Mendes, Robert Brown, Michael Dreyer, Jack Thorne, and Millie Bobby Brown herself producing. Executive producers include Joshua Grode, Isobel Richards, and Jake Bongiovi.
In addition to Brown, Partridge, Cavill, Patel, and Bonham Carter, the film will also star Sharon Duncan-Brewster and the returning Susan Wokoma (Edith).
