General Hospital‘s Cameron Mathison, who plays Drew Cain, recently got candid about his dating life. The soap opera star has shared how he is navigating singlehood after his split from his wife of 22 years.

In a recent interview with Us Weekly, Cameron Mathison opened up about life as a single man. The actor, best known for his role as Drew Cain on General Hospital, also discussed his dating life.
“In these almost three years of being single, I have been dating,” Mathison said at Jennie Garthand iHeartPodcasts’ “I Choose Me” live summit on Saturday, April 25. He added, “The whole app world is new to me. It’s a new world.”
The actor went on to reminisce about life before the digital age, when people had to connect in person in the real world.
“I got to be honest, I got a little caught up in it, got a little busy, because I wasn’t used to having to meet people,” Mathison said. He continued, “I was also trying to distract [myself] from a broken heart. … I met a lot of amazing people, one in particular that became, like, a more committed sort of situation, but at the same time, I hadn’t been ready for anything more serious.”
The General Hospital star also revealed that he has “stepped back big time” from dating apps. “It was a bit much for me,” he shared, adding, “I need time to heal and do my thing.”
Mathison and his wife, Vanessa, announced their separation in July 2024, following over two decades of marriage. The actor has recently confirmed that the former couple shares an amicable relationship.
“It wasn’t my choice that our marriage ended, and it is what it is. I love her. I care about her.” Mathison shared. He added, “I want her to be happy in this chapter. I have no place for anger and resentment.
The actor continued, “I try to do whatever I can to be supportive of her, and I really feel that from her, too.”
