The makers of Krishnavataram have unveiled a new set of character posters as the mythological drama prepares for a worldwide theatrical release on May 7, 2026. Conceived as the first chapter in a planned trilogy, the film is positioned as a large-scale retelling of Lord Krishna’s life for audiences in India and overseas.

The film will release simultaneously in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, with an English-language version planned for rollout after the initial release window as part of its international strategy.

Speaking about the response the project has received so far, producer Sajan Raj Kurup said, “It is humbling to see the scale of love and attention coming from across the world for Krishnavataram. As a team, it reinforces our belief that if storytelling is authentic, it will find its audience.”

He added that the makers are approaching the story as part of a larger cinematic universe built around Krishna’s journey. “The Krishnavataram franchise is envisioned as a three-part retelling of Krishna’s life. It is our attempt to bring India’s divine heritage to a global cinematic language without losing its soul,” he said.

Kurup also acknowledged the role recent Indian blockbusters have played in expanding international reach for Indian films. “We are grateful for the path-breaking impact of films like RRR and Baahubali, which have helped open Indian cinema to audiences worldwide,” he noted.

Directed by Hardik Gajjar, the film introduces a relatively fresh ensemble cast, including Siddharth Gupta as Krishna, Sanskruti Jayana as Satyabhama, Sushmita Bhatt as Radha, and Nivaashiyni Krishnan as Rukmini.

Krishnavataram is presented and produced by Sajan Raj Kurup and Shobha Sant of Creativeland Studios Entertainment, along with Poonam Shroff and Parth Gajjar of Athasrikatha Motion Pictures. The film is scheduled to release worldwide on May 7, 2026.
