“Let me take care of you…” Independent Film Company has unveiled the official trailer for a peculiar indie film titled Night Nurse, a provocative and unsettling dark thriller taking us into the world of retirement home scammers. The film gets even more icky when a new nurse is seduced by one of the sneaky residents, who uses mind games to get into her head. This premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year and will be out to watch in very limited theaters starting in July this summer. Starring Cemre Paksoy as Eleni, Bruce McKenzie as Douglas, Eléonore Hendricks, Colleen Rose Trundy, & Mimi Rogers. IFC explains that the film “examines caregiving as both vocation and compulsion, and the fine, dangerous line between them.” I’ve seen this and it’s just too weird and upsetting to enjoy in any way. Some discerning cinephiles may be really into this story & what it’s doing, but it’s definitely not for everyone. Tread carefully.
Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Georgia Bernstein’s film Night Nurse, direct from YouTube:

At the start of her new job in a luxury retirement community, Eleni (Cemre Paksoy) is drawn into a series of scam calls targeting elderly residents, a pull she can’t quite name or resist. As the community’s strange rhythms close in around her, she grows increasingly intimate with her elusive patient, Douglas (Bruce McKenzie), until the line blurs between care and desire, devotion and delusion. Night Nurse is written and directed by indie filmmaker Georgia Bernstein, making her feature directorial debut after a few shorts and “Snugglr” series. Produced by Edwin Linker, Liane Cunje, Veronica Barbosa, Georgia Bernstein, & Lucy Rogers. This initially premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival early this year. IFC releases Bernstein’s Night Nurse in select US theaters starting on July 10th, 2026 in the summer. Anyone want to watch this?
