Well, it seems as though Paradise is set to embark on some kind of space mission as show creator Dan Fogleman teased as such on his Instagram, sharing a picture of series newcomers Elijah Wood (Yellowjackets) and Melissa Benoist (Supergirl) all dressed up for the occasion.
By now, fans of the series will know that things continue to get even more mind-bending and confusing but a trip to space would certainly be one for the books. Fogelman accompanied the image with the caption: “You have no idea where this thing is going.”
Season 2 was a rollercoaster for plenty, as the gritty drama threw viewers right back into the world of underground bunkers, government secrets and post-apocalyptic living as Xavier (Sterling K Brown) embarked on a mission to find his wife.
Not knowing what he’d find out in the real world, he was in for plenty of shocks – and so were fans of the show. Now, we’ve got some exciting cast additions but as ever, no real intel on what the episodes will actually focus on.
But when is it due for release? Read on for everything we know so far about Paradise season 3.
Will there be a Paradise season 3?
There will be! Paradise was renewed for another run ahead of the season 2 finale.
In an Instagram video posted to the official Paradise account, Sterling K Brown announced the news in suitably season 2 fashion, making a nod to Link’s Love Actually-style moment.

The third season will likely be Paradise’s final outing, with Fogelman always being clear in the fact that he originally pitched the show as having three seasons in total. Whether it could go on for any longer, we don’t know for certain yet but we could hazard a guess and assume it will be.
Executive producer John Hoberg told The Hollywood Reporter: “We know what the end is, and it’s an end that would make it very difficult to make a season four come afterward.”
“Fogelman will say blatantly that Lost was formidable in helping him conceive This Is Us and of Paradise,” Sterling K Brown added. “The way that the past affects and influences the present, and also then the future, is something we play around with in both shows. So all I can really say is that when Paradise is all done, it will all make sense.”
Paradise season 3 release date speculation
We’d expect Paradise to stick to its pretty consistent schedule. So far, seasons have been released each year with season 1 premiering in 2025 and then season 2 in 2026.
In March 2026, series star Krys Marshall told Deadline that season 3 was “already cooking” – adding that she’d read the first few scripts and was due to begin filming in the coming weeks.
With the series now in production, we’d therefore expect season 3 to land on our screens in 2027 but as for exactly when, we’ll have to wait for official confirmations!
Who could return in Paradise season 3 cast?
It wouldn’t be a season of Paradise without Sterling K Brown leading proceedings as Xavier so can expect his return. As we now know from season 2, the series does enjoy bringing back past characters in flashbacks so we could anticipate still seeing the likes of James Marsden’s President Cal and Jon Beavers’s Billy.
One character we won’t likely be seeing anymore of is Shailene Woodley’s Annie, who sadly died after childbirth in season 2. Seeing as Link continued to be a complete mystery throughout the second season and seems to have been embroiled in plenty of twists of his own, we’d certainly expect Thomas Doherty to make a return to the series.

As for new faces joining Paradise for season 3, it’s been confirmed that Emmy award-winner Julianna Margulies (The Morning Show), Elijah Wood and Melissa Benoist will be starring. As for who they will be playing, that’s being kept under wraps for now.
However, with Fogleman sharing a picture of Wood and Benoist in space suits and on what appears to be a space ship, it could indicate that Paradise is set to go beyond where it has before – quite literally.
