Actor Rakul Preet Singh responded to misleading claims about her appearance after a man identifying himself as a plastic and cosmetic surgeon suggested that she had undergone plastic surgery. Celebrities often face online scrutiny ranging from body shaming to unsolicited medical opinions, and Rakul recently addressed one such instance on social media.

On Monday, Rakul took to Instagram to call out a video in which the man compared her older and recent photographs and claimed that changes in her appearance were the result of cosmetic procedures such as Botox, fillers, and a nose job. He also criticised the actor for not openly speaking about alleged procedures and accused her of promoting what he described as unrealistic beauty standards by focusing on fitness.

Responding firmly, Rakul shared the video and issued a warning to her followers. She wrote, “Fraud alert: it’s scary that people like him are claiming to be doctors and making statements without any factual checks and misleading people.” She clarified that she had no objection to individuals choosing cosmetic procedures but stressed that spreading unverified claims in the name of science was unacceptable.

Rakul further pointed out that physical changes could also result from consistent fitness, discipline, and weight loss. “Being an actor who understands ancient and modern science, I have no issues if people do surgeries, but there is also another thing called weight loss that comes from hard work. Ever heard of that?” she wrote, urging people to “beware of such ‘doctors’.”

Rakul was recently seen in De De Pyaar De 2, which also starred Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, and Meezaan Jaffri. She was set to appear next in Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, directed by Mudassar Aziz and also starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Sara Ali Khan, and Wamiqa Gabbi. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release in March 2026.
