Trigger Point is returning to ITV for its fourth season later this year, with fans nervously awaiting the next nerve-shredding trials for Lana Washington (Vicky McClure).
The bomb disposal expert has pulled off some miraculous rescues in her time on the force, but she’s also suffered some devastating losses – including some very close to home.
From wayward brother Billy (played by House of the Dragon‘s Ewan Mitchell) to one-time beau Thom Youngblood (Adolescence’s Mark Stanley), attackers have targeted Lana at every opportunity.
Still, she won’t be cowed, continuing to serve the general public with her steely nerve, which compels her to wander into devious death traps in each and every episode – but the latest trailer hints that she could be reaching the end of the line.

Trigger Point season 4 release date speculation
Trigger Point season 4 does not yet have a confirmed premiere date on ITV1 and ITVX, but the hit crime thriller seems poised for an imminent return.
ITV gave the Vicky McClure series a high-profile showcase during its recent coverage of the FIFA World Cup 2026, so the broadcaster clearly is hoping to draw a large crowd to this latest pulse-pounding chapter.
With the marketing campaign beginning to pick up, it’s possible that the show is eyeing a launch date in August or September – after the World Cup final, and in time for the influx of new programmes that autumn typically brings.
Of course, that’s just speculation for now. We’ll update this page when concrete details emerge regarding Trigger Point season 4 release plans.
Trigger Point season 4 cast: New and returning
Vicky McClure once again leads the Trigger Point cast as explosives officer Lana Washington, who will face more death-defying crime scenes in the upcoming episodes.
Confirmed returning cast members are Eric Shango (Danny), Nabil Elouahabi (Hass), Natalie Simpson (DS Helen Morgan) and Maanuv Thiara (DCI Batra), while Julie Graham (This City is Ours) and Jonas Armstrong (After the Flood) have been added as guest stars.
Behind the camera, the new episodes are written by Chris Brandon (Bloodlands) and directed by Jennie Darnell (Payback) and Nirpal Bhogal (DI Ray).

All the while, Lana will need to pay close attention to her fraying mental health, having already endured so much loss and trauma over the past three seasons.
