South Africa and South Korea face off in their final group game in the early hours of Thursday morning, with both sides fighting to finish second in Group A.

World Cup co-hosts Mexico have already confirmed top spot with one game to play, which leaves South Korea, Czech Republic and South Africa battling to finish second. Third place could be enough to qualify for the knockout stages but that depends on results elsewhere.
South Korea, who beat Czech Republic 2-1 in their opener before losing 1-0 to Mexico, are second in the group and frontrunners to take second as they look to reach the knockout stages for the fourth time in their last 11 World Cup appearances.
A draw will be enough for South Korea to finish second, even if Czech Republic beat Mexico, given their head-to-head record. If South Africa win on Thursday and Czech Republic beat Mexico, South Korea would be knocked out of the World Cup.
South Africa will be well aware it’s a must-win clash for them as they look to get out of the group stages for the first time in their history.
