Premier League Tottenham begin their pre-season schedule against League One new boys MK Dons at Hotspur Way on Wednesday.

Spurs are hoping it represents the starting point of a more successful campaign after nearly suffering a shock relegation from the top flight last term.

Tottenham have been active in the transfer market in a bid to put things right, with six new signings so far including £100 million midfielder Sandro Tonali from Newcastle, although some of the new boys are unlikely to feature after playing at the World Cup.

MK Dons, who won promotion from League Two last term, already have two pre-season fixtures under their belt.

Paul Warne’s team kicked off their summer schedule with a 4-1 victory over non-league Maidenhead United before suffering a 2-1 defeat to NK Istra in Croatia last Friday.
