It’s time to get stuck into another crime drama and this time round, it’s been one that many Death in Paradise fans have been counting down the days to.

With Saint-Pierre having already aired two seasons on the other side of the pond, UK viewers are in for a treat as Joséphine Jobert takes on a new leading role in the procedural series. There may be a couple of similarities between this new show and Jobert’s defining role in Death in Paradise – but the actress says that the “vibe is different“.
Speaking to Radio Times, she said: “When I read this script, I thought that it has nothing to do with Death in Paradise. Death in Paradise, like Guadeloupe, Saint Marie is a character itself. And it’s the same for Saint-Pierre, the island of Saint Pierre is a character itself. But they are two different people.
“You have the Caribbean and the sun whereas Saint Pierre is very cold, the vibe is different.”
But where exactly is Saint-Pierre filmed? Read on to find out.
Where is Saint-Pierre filmed?

Saint-Pierre is filmed on location in the French archipelago of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon. The series is also filmed in St John’s, Newfoundland, Canada.
While some may be wondering whether Saint-Pierre is a real place, it actually is and is situated in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. In fact, Saint-Pierre and Miquelon is technically an archipelago, comprising of eight islands.
While it is situated in North America, Saint-Pierre and Miquelon is an oversees country and territory of the European Union, with its residents having EU citizenship and the Euro being the official currency.
As you can see in the series itself, scenes are filmed all over the island, with shots of the harbour featuring prominently as well as venturing to various parts of the islands including l’île aux Marins.
Speaking about her experience filming on location, series star Joséphine Jobert told Vacay.ca: “Even me, who is French, knew nothing about St Pierre, which is a beautiful French Territory. The residents live to their own rhythm, opening their shops when they feel like it.
“I told myself calm down, relax, chill, and learn to adapt to their rhythm. I found the residents to be very kind, accommodating, happy, and proud. I think the residents were happy we put their island on the map. We would film for two to three weeks and then go to another location. … I was always nostalgic to return to St.-Pierre et Miquelon.”
