As fans await the upcoming second season of the Scrubs revival, the key cast has been confirmed, with JD star Zach Braff, Turk star Donald Faison and Elliot star Sarah Chalke all returning.
Meanwhile, they are joined by a new series regular, with Sam Tosh star Ava Bunn having been promoted after playing a recurring role last season.
The rest of the actors playing interns – Jacob Dudman who plays Asher Green, David Gridley who plays Blake Lewis, Layla Mohammadi who plays Amara Hadi and Amanda Morrow who plays Dashana Trainor – will all also be returning, still in recurring roles.
Dr Cox star John C McGinley and Carla star Judy Reyes will also be recurring, after returning as their original characters for the revival, as will The Janitor actor Neil Flynn, who only appeared in one episode of the previous season.
Rachel Bilson will be taking on a recurring role, having made a guest appearance as hospital visitor Charlie in the season 1 finale. She hit it off with JD, so it seems that romantic storyline will continue.
Other recurring stars for season 2 include Robert Maschio as The Todd, Vanessa Bayer as Sibby and Michael James Scott as Dubois, while Christa Miller will guest star once again as Jordan.
There have also been a couple of departures, with X Mayo surprisingly not returning as Raymond, and Joel Kim Booster not back as Dr Park.
Beyond this, there are a few actors who could reprise their roles, but their returns are not confirmed as of yet. These include Andy Ridings as Wes, Darcy Michael as Maintenance Guy and Ken Jenkin as Dr Kelso.
Dr Kelso, a major figure in the original series, did not appear in the first run of the revival, but creator Bill Lawrence had previously said the character would be back in season 2. This has not yet been confirmed in the official casting.
