Siddharth Gupta says reading the Bhagavad Gita daily helped him prepare for Krishnavataram
The actor recently shared insights into the emotional and spiritual journey he underwent while working on the film, which is currently enjoying a successful theatrical run across multiple markets. Directed by Hardik Gajjar, Krishnavataram is based on the life and legacy of Lord Krishna and has generated conversations among audiences for its storytelling, scale and devotional themes.
Speaking about his preparation, Siddharth explained that he intentionally avoided taking inspiration from films or television adaptations of Lord Krishna.
“I did not watch any films or television portrayals of Lord Krishna. Instead, all my preparation came through books, scriptures, and deep reading,” the actor shared.
According to Siddharth, reading sacred Hindu scriptures became an important part of his daily routine during the making of the film. “I read the Bhagavad Gita and the Bhagavata Purana every single day during the day and before going to sleep. It transformed my understanding completely,” he said.
The actor further described the experience as deeply meaningful on a personal level. “Reading these sacred granths was truly an eye-opener for me,” he added.
Apart from Siddharth Gupta, the film also stars Sanskruti Jayana as Satyabhama, Sushmitha Bhatt as Radha and Nivaashiyni Krishnan as Rukmini.
In recent weeks, Krishnavataram has continued to gain attention among devotees and moviegoers alike. The film was also declared tax-free in Uttar Pradesh by Yogi Adityanath, adding further momentum to its theatrical run.
Presented and produced by Creativeland Studios Entertainment along with Athashrikatha Motion Pictures, the film has been envisioned as the first chapter of a larger three-part cinematic franchise.
The makers have positioned Krishnavataram as a grand mythological saga that blends spirituality with cinematic storytelling, while Siddharth Gupta’s portrayal of Lord Krishna has emerged as one of the film’s major talking points.
