House of the Dragon is heading back to screens this month with its third season – and its safe to say that the fantasy drama isn’t holding anything back this time.

The prequel was part of a franchise rehabilitation effort by HBO following the widely criticised Game of Thrones season 8, but found itself in a similarly heated predicament after season 2’s anticlimactic finale.
Viewers had hoped to see the Battle of the Gullet, which was instead pushed into the third entry, but it sounds as if this epic action sequence will have been worth the wait.
“[It’s] unlike anything that’s ever been done in television before,” said showrunner Ryan Condal at SXSW London (via Variety). “All of the pot that was set to boil at the end of season 2 very much picks up in season 3, and you have these divided factions on either side.
“But there’s now divisions within the divisions, and those things will continue to fracture, and we’ll continue to see self-interested people do awful things in the name of pride and power and ego and self and family.”
That all sounds rather exciting, but when can we expect to tune into House of the Dragon season 3? Here’s your guide to what time the HBO drama returns to our screens.
What time is House of the Dragon season 3 released?

House of the Dragon season 3 will have its US premiere at 9pm (ET) on Sunday 21 June 2026 on HBO, which means that its UK launch will be at 2am on Monday 22 June. Episodes are expected weekly.
